Maasterminal Maastricht sits on the Juliana Canal in the heart of the Euregio, within reach of the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and France, with barge, rail and road on one site and freight forwarding through sister company SLE Global Logistics. What a shipment costs depends on the modality mix, the distance and the handling involved; the hub's job is to make that mix cheaper than trucking it all the way.
For freight forwarders and shippers this position does concrete work: seaport congestion stays at the seaport, cargo consolidates here, and the last leg runs exactly when the site or factory needs it.
